Lynn Dillard and his wife have lived in the Altavista/Hurt, VA area for approximately 26 years. After 18 years of owning a high precision, high volume manufacturing OEM business, he decided to go back to school. Mr. Dillard had been teaching at Central Virginia Community College part- time for 18 years at night in the Machine Technology Program while running his own business during the day. He attended Averett University in Danville, VA and received a Bachelors in Business Administration. After receiving his Bachelors, he went to Virginia Tech and received a Master of Science Degree in Career and Technical Education. Mr. Dillard is now an Associate Professor and Program Head/Coordinator over the Machine Technology Program at CVCC specializing in Computer Numerical Control Programming development. He feels very blessed to have gotten this position and to be able to work with students who are looking for jobs in today’s economy and help them to apply for jobs in the nuclear manufacturing facilities and all other manufacturing jobs in our area.
