This course is the first in the series of four HVAC classes. Students must be certified in NCCER Core or be co-enrolled in the NCCER Core class.
Topic include HVAC operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of residential and light commercial heating/cooling systems. Students will also use diagnostic tools and procedures to identify problems and establish operating efficiency in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and standards.
The HVAC Level 1 course has nine modules: introduction to HVAC, trade mathematics, basic electricity, introduction to heating, introduction to cooling, introduction to air distribution systems, basic copper and plastic piping practices, soldering and brazing and basic carbon steel piping practices. Students that successfully complete all (9) modules will receive the NCCER HVAC 1 credential.
Students must have access to a computer and internet to complete homework assignments in CANVAS.
