American Heart Association · Teaches BLS & Heartsaver CPR Programs
This course prepares qualified healthcare professionals to teach American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Heartsaver CPR programs in Virginia. Built on the AHA Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care, it equips candidates with the instructional methods, skills assessment techniques, and program administration knowledge required to train others in lifesaving resuscitation skills. Candidates must be accepted by and aligned with an AHA Training Center (TC) operating in Virginia before enrolling.
Once certified, instructors may teach AHA BLS Provider, BLS Renewal, and (if applicable) Hearsaver CPR AED courses; issue AHA course completion eCards to students; and post class schedules on the public AHA website to reach learners across Virginia.
