Program Description:


The CVCC Workforce Solutions Phlebotomy Technician program is designed to prepare students to be professional Phlebotomy Technician dedicated to safely collecting venous and dermal blood specimens for laboratory testing.
The Phlebotomy course is 36 hours of classroom instruction and 12 additional hours for skills labs. In addition to classroom training, students will participate in 40 hours of clinical training that will be completed in an accredited laboratory at a local medical center. Students must perform 30 unaided successful venipunctures and 10 capillary or finger sticks. Students must score 70% or more on class work to be eligible to participate in clinical rotation and sit for the NHA (National Healthcareer Association) certification exam.

Admission Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required drug screening
  • Background check – applicants with repeated offences, drug, larceny, domestic abuse charges etc. will not be accepted into the program
