This comprehensive Electrical curriculum prepares learners for a career as skilled professionals in the electrical field. It places strong emphasis on safe work practices, while covering applied electrical theory and residential, commercial, and industrial electrical knowledge and skills. Coverage of the National Electrical Code® is integrated throughout to ensure learners are prepared as competent journeyman electricians. The four-level Electrical curriculum complies with the U.S. Department of Labor’s standards for apprenticeship programs. It also provides the first two levels of training for learners seeking a career as Electronic Systems Technicians.

The Electrical Level 4 course has thirteen modules: load calculations- feeders and services, health care facilities, standby and emergency systems, basic electronic theory, fire alarm systems, specialty transformers, advanced controls, HVAC controls, heat tracing and freeze protection, motor operation and maintenance, medium-voltage termination/splices, special locations, and fundamentals of crew leadership.

Students should have basic computer skills, basic math skills and be able to use a calculator to complete NCCER module testing and completion of homework assignments in CANVAS. Students must complete and pass all modules to be certified in NCCER Electrical 4.
