FastForward Eligible Program: To qualify for FastForward programs, you must meet the Virginia Domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia for at least one year and intend to stay indefinitely. A domicile determination form will be part of your registration process. If you qualify, you will pay one-third (1/3) of the cost of the program. If you have a financial need, you may also qualify for Financial Assistance (G3) that can pay 100% of your third.

This course is the first in the series of four Electrical classes. Students must be certified in NCCER Core or be co-enrolled in the NCCER Core class. Electricians install electrical systems in structures: they install wiring and other electrical components, such as circuit breaker panels, switches, and light fixtures, and they follow blueprints, the National Electrical Code ® and state and local codes. The Electrical Level 1 course has twelve modules: the electrical industry, safety for electricians, introduction to electrical circuits, electrical theory, introduction to the National Electrical Code®, device boxes, hand bending, wireways, raceways and fittings, conductors and cables, basic electrical construction documents, residential wiring, and electrical test equipment. After successful completion of all twelve modules and homework assignments, student will receive a credential in Electrical 1.
