FastForward Eligible Program: To qualify for FastForward programs, you must meet the Virginia Domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia for at least one year and intend to stay indefinitely. A domicile determination form will be part of your registration process. If you qualify, you will pay one-third (1/3) of the cost of the program. If you have a financial need, you may also qualify for Financial Assistance (G3) that can pay 100% of your third.

This course is the third in the series of four Electrical classes. Students must be certified in NCCER Core, Electrical 1 and 2 before enrollment in this course. Electricians install electrical systems in structures: they install wiring and other electrical components, such as circuit breaker panels, switches, and light fixtures, and they follow blueprints, the National Electrical Code ®and state and local codes.   
The Electrical 3 course has eleven modules: load calculations-branch and feeder circuits, conductor selection and calculations, practical applications of lighting, hazardous locations, overcurrent protection, distribution equipment, transformers, commercial electrical services, motor calculations, Voice, data and video, and motor controls. Students that successfully complete all (11) modules will receive the Electrical 3 certification.


** Students should have basic computer skills, basic math skills and be able to use a calculator to complete NCCER module testing and completion of homework assignments in CANVAS. **
