FastForward Eligible Program
: To qualify for FastForward programs, you must meet the Virginia Domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia for at least one year and intend to stay indefinitely. A domicile determination form will be part of your registration process. If you qualify, you will pay one-third (1/3) of the cost of the program. If you have a financial need, you may also qualify for Financial Assistance
(G3)
that can pay 100% of your third.

Program Description:
The CVCC Workforce Solutions Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Program (CCMA) is designed to prepare students to be professional Medical Assistants, as multi-skilled allied health care professionals that specialize in procedures commonly performed in the ambulatory health care settings. Students may work in medical offices, clinics, urgent care centers, and may work in general medicine or specialty practices.
This class is 108 hours of classroom instruction and will cover theory and in-class practice. Students will be exposed to a multitude of medical and administrative tasks including:
Checking patients in and out upon arrival and departure.
Answering phone calls and questions.
Assisting providers with exams and procedures.
Administering injections or medications.
Working in the electronic health record (EHR).
Performing EKG, phlebotomy, and laboratory procedures.
Taking patient vital signs.
The class prepares students to sit for the NHA (National HealthCareers Association) certification exam. Students that successfully complete the classroom portion and the exam will receive the Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA).
