The course is offered for healthcare providers and nursing/dental students. The course is designed for people in job-related duties in emergency preparedness and response. This course covers how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in hospital and out of hospital settings. The course covers material to include: critical concepts of high-quality CPR; the AHA Chain of Survival; rescuer CPR/AED; for adult/child/infant; differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques; bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant; rescue breathing for adult, child and infant; relief of choking for adult, child and infant; and intro to CPR with an advanced airway.


American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card is valid for two years. In the classroom, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam. Call CVCC Workforce Solutions to get registered today!
