Course includes 40 hours of classroom and Wet Lab instruction designed to meet Virginia Dept. of Professional and Occupational Regulations (VADPOR) training requirements for technicians with 4-6 years of experience in plumbing & related mechanical areas. Please Note: The 4 HR Installation Class is included in the 40 HR class.
Course Objectives: Introduction to cross-connections; conditions leading to backflow; prevention of cross-connection; cross-connection program components; installation of backflow devices inside buildings; outside buildings; in flood areas; codes and ordinances; and use of test kits and Wet Lab.
Class Instructor: Wade Hill, with Wade In Cross Connection, which is noted on the Virginia Board for Contractors List of Approved Backflow Prevention Device Worker Schools. Wade In Cross Connection is one of the few approved by VA DPOR to provide individual training for Backflow Prevention Device Installation for Fire Sprinkler (SPC), Highway/Heavy (H/H) and Irrigation (ISC) Specialty Contractors.

Course Exam: Students must independently submit a Board of Contractors Backflow Prevention Device Worker Certification Application to the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) with a check or money order payable to the Treasurer of Virginia. The application must include the completed Experience Verification Form (one per experience). One the certification application is processed and approved by DPOR, the student will be notified of exam eligibility.
